Lightway Crystal Tubular Skylights
bring sunlight into your home or business
They collect sunlight
Lightway tubular skylights collect daylight on the roof, facade, terrace or even on the pavement. Thanks to the collection dome made of crystal glass, the light flows into the interior without degradation of the light or aging performance losses.
They conduct sunlight
Using highly reflective pipe, Lightway tubular skylights conduct light into the interior with minimal light loss. The inside surface of the pipe is coated with a pure silver finish using a vacuum coating technology that provides very high total reflectance and excellent coating integrity, durability and U.V. resistance.
They distribute sunlight
The pipe is routed to an opening in the ceiling or on the wall of the room you need to brighten. It is connected to a beautiful glass diffuser, which spreads the light throughout the room for full illumination and enjoyment.
Why Tubular Skylights
over skylights or windows
-
Skylights and windows are flat glass surfaces that only collect light that has a direct line of sight with the opening.
-
Additionally, at steep angles light rays will bounce off of a skylight instead of entering the opening.
-
Skylights and windows only allow light to enter areas adjacent to the exterior surface of the building; ie: exterior walls and cathedral ceilings.
-
Skylights and windows only allow the sunlight to travel directly through the opening and continue straight like a spot light.
-
The tubular skylight dome extends beyond the roof or wall surface and bends sunlight rays into the opening that would have otherwise missed.
-
The tubular skylight dome will collect a wider spread of light ray angles. Because of this increased light collection per opening area efficiency, tubular skylights require a smaller opening to be cut into the building structure in order to add the desired light.
-
Tubular skylights will transmit the sunlight to interior rooms or lower floors.
-
Due to internal bouncing in the pipe and the ceiling diffuser, the tubular skylight spreads the light rays so that the area is illuminated more even and thoroughly.
daylight and human health

dark inside
Why is natural daylight so important? Sunlight has always been a vital part of all life on earth including humans. It has a beneficial effect on our psyche, health, energy, joy and well-being.
However, the current way of life and work increasingly closes us into buildings where there is little natural daylight or artificial lighting prevails.
When humans spend so much time indoors without a natural daylight source we lose contact with the healing powers of sunlight.
